Spring 2017 Software Festival
Software Workshop Information and Registration
What is the QIPSR Software Festival?
QIPSR is once again holding its biannual Software Festival. Twice per year, workshops on analytical software are offered during the QIPSR Software Festivals as a way to provide quality training to participants. These workshops are free and open to UK students and faculty. For the Spring 2017 session, we are offering introductory workshops for SAS, QGIS, and Mplus, as well as three-day progressive workshops for Stata and R.
Is this for me?
If you are a current UK student or faculty member who needs software training, the QIPSR Software Festival is for you!
What are the introductory and multi-part sessions?
The introductory workshops assume you have little or no prior experience with the software. The progressive workshops for Stata and R begin with introductory sessions and progress to more advanced topics (e.g., regression, regression diagnostics and post-estimation, and graphics).
Do I need to bring my computer or other materials?
You may bring your laptop, but it is not required. A limited number of laptops (with software preloaded) will be available, while supplies last, to those without software on their personal computers. Workshop materials will be available for download and will remain available after your workshop, so you should not worry about saving materials to your local drive.
If you have a copy of the software you are learning, please feel free to bring your personal laptop if you wish to use it. Just be sure to charge that device and make sure your software is updated prior to attending the workshop.
Registration for the Spring 2017 Software Festival is now closed. Be sure to sign up for the QIPSR listserv and "like" our new Facebook page to receive direct updates about future QIPSR events.
