"Automated Content Analysis for Social Scientists," March 9, Wednesday.3:00-5:00 pm, President's Room, Singletary CenterDaniel Hopkins (Political Scientist, Georgetown), co-author (with Gary King, Harvard) of a nonparametric method of authomated content analysis. Digitized text is everywhere, yet hand coding thousands of blogs, speeches, government records, newspapers, and other sources of unstructured text is infeasible. Professor Hopkins is co-author of a method of automatic content analysis for social scientists. He will illustrate his method with a variety of data sets, and make the software available for easy use.
