The College of Arts & Sciences is offering an all-day grant writing seminar on Thursday, May 9, 2013 in Room 106 of Whitehall Classroom Building, from 9:00-5:00pm.  The seminar will be given by Grant Writers’ Seminars and Workshops (GWSW), an organization that provides excellent seminars to universities throughout the U.S., and comes highly recommended by the Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy, each of whom has hosted past seminars at UK. The seminar specifically addresses NSF and NIH grant writing, but much of the content of the seminar is relevant to grant applications to other agencies as well. The seminar will be open to all A&S faculty and postdocs. (Please note:  I do not have a complete address list available of A&S postdocs, so please share this information if you employ any postdocs.)

In cooperation with the College’s Quantitative Initiative for Policy and Social Research (QIPSR) and with assistance from a couple of other units, A&S will pay the cost of conducting the workshop.  The remaining cost per attendee is a $75 charge for the Grant Writers’ WorkbookPlease check with your chair or business officer for billing authorization before registering.  Attendees can choose from 5 different workbooks (e.g., NSF, NIH, other agencies; see below for all choices) that will be picked up on the day of the workshop. Attendees of past workshops have noted that the workbooks are very useful resources. Registration and purchase of a workbook are required for each attendee. You can register here
